Blackberry email ssl?

send securely
I_am_me asked:

I send/receive yahoo email using blackberry 8330 (curve) with the blackberry internet service. The emails are sent like text, so not using an email client that has ssl. Have contacted yahoo will see what they say but I would like any answers from people who might have gone through same situation and solved it. Just do not want yahoo email to be suspended/stopped due to this.

Yahoo sent the message below
Dear AT&T Yahoo! Customer:

We noticed that you are accessing email using non-secure settings in your email software.

We would like to ensure that your AT&T Yahoo! Member ID, password, and email messages are transmitted securely between your mail software (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) and the AT&T Yahoo! Mail servers. In order to meet this need, please enable SSL via the instructions that are available on the Help site.

Since multiple email notifications have already been sent out about this, we request that you please make the necessary changes immediately. Remember, you need to make these changes if you want to continue to send/receive email using a mail client.

Thank you for your cooperation,
AT&T Yahoo! Customer Support

I got a Curve from AT+T a few months ago and immediately upgraded my OS to v4.5 and I’ve never seen this message. I use both Yahoo and Gmail on a daily basis. Installing the upgraded OS gives you HTML email which may solve your issue. It also adds updates to the browser, new apps to open .ppt and .doc files, and a video camera. I suggest you try upgrading your phone.

Connect your phone to your PC via the provided USB cable and follow the link below:
