I have applied online for a job in Nigeria through Xander Recruitment Inc, Nigeria. After 15 days the Xander Recruitment send me an appoinment letter stating that I have selected by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), and you have to secure valid work & residence permit for Nigeria and mail to us for further processing. They write me when I will mail them these document they will give me to month advance salary and send neccessary document by courier.They also write me, if you don’t have these documents you should contact with Glabal Traveling Agency, UK for getting these document. I have contacted Global Traveling Agence, UK. The Global Traveling Agency is asking me a sum of 915 GBP by Western Union Money Transfer for securing these document. I have communicated this to Xander Recruitment that this is not secure but they advise me to go ahead. Shall I go ahead or they both are cheating me.

I am in the higher end of management in a specialized field and for family reasons need to relocate and find a new job. Eventhough I only put my home and cell numbers on my resume, I am finding people calling my work. How they had to research to get the number and leaving messages on my work voicemail can compromise my current job (which I obviously cannot afford to loose before finding a new one). How can I feel secure about sending out resumes while expecting professional practices and confidentiality to be respected?
