Computer/ printer problem?

send securely
Kenj asked:

I cannot get my computer to recognize my printer. I have tried several printers, one being brand new- installed the software disk, added new printer, etc..however when I send something to print it will not & it has an error in the printing console next to the page sent to be printed. tried uninstalling & reinstalling…no use. Everything is connected properly and securely- its not a cable issue. Computer is an E Machines with XP Home Edition, Printer in an HP all in one.
Any suggestions of what could be wrong?
It’s a USB connection printer. I’ve tried 3 different USB ports on the computer- no luck. Printer is set as default.

    Click:

    Start – Settings – Printers

Find the printer and right click on it, click on “Set as Default”

Well that is your first problem is it USB or serial?
The problem sounds like it is inside the computer as far as the USB ports and if the printer is so brand new then that would mean USB so its your computers USB

IF you have installed multiple drivers in ur PC.
Firstly, uninstal the rest of the printer drivers.

You may chk in the printers & fax folder ( from ur start button clik ).
