Although I am sure it’s not really meant for me, they are trying to get people send money by sending scary death threats like this:

This is a message from the Ishmael Ghost Islamic Group. We are confirmed Islamic Hired killers and ******* aids. We have been sent to assassinate you and members of your family. I am sorry if the following message will not be detailed because we would not want you to be able to track us as we have been following your every move for sometime now.
Sometime ago, you offended a member of our gang. As you quite know, I shall not be detailing my statement. This member had ordered for your assassination after he made sure he acquired every information about you and your family. It was when he produced your complete details that another member of our gang found out he knew someone in your extended family. As a result, he pleaded for you and said you should be pardoned under any condition. After reaching an agreement, we decided that you provide the total sum of 800 USD to transport some of our expatriates out of the USA. The money shall finalize the migration of these Islamic expatriates out of the USA. If you do not follow these requirements, I am sorry you shall not live to see the next three weeks, even if you see the next three weeks, a member of your family shall pay for it and another shall pay for every other week you stay alive until you are dead. To provide this money, kindly send the money via western union or money gram to a receiver in the UK. Once this receiver has confirmed the receipt of the money he shall securely send it back to us for the needed reason. Below is the information of the receiver.

You should know this Islamic Group is wide and members cannot be completely wiped out. Note: We are sending this message with a hacked European and African IP address so that you cannot trace location of this message. I will not explain further, a word should be enough for the wise.

I know it’s a spam, I still believe it’s a disgrace and would like to report them.
I checked the email address it has been sent from, they hacked into a Turkey professor email address and sent it from his. This person really exists and this email address is his from work. Shame on them. And that’s why they ask to be sent an email to the other email address, because they don’t want this person to find out by receiving answers.

I would call the police and talk to them and email it to them. Also, maybe the local newspaper.
They don’t mention details because they don’t have them and hope you will comply out of fear.
They don’t mention the time of your supposed offense to their gang because it never happened. This is a spam email. The email ending “live” is one connected with hot-mail live that is easily created. Also the advanced terrorist spelled “lose your life” as “loose your life” they are not very sophisticated this is a spam letter. Just delete.
Other reasons to discredit them: They assume you can track them true death threats are sent from anonymous computers that have IP addresses manipulated or public computers where the user is unknown.
Had you truly offended a gang member money is never asked of you. You will lose your life regardless.
When you offended this gang member your email address I’m sure was not displayed so a name or contact by phone would be way more believable and cause fear.
Gang members usually prove to you before-hand that they are serious by kidnapping or delivering something to your residence an email is far from an intimidating.
Militant groups rarely collect sums of money from public citizens as threats especially such a low amount. Killing someone involves extreme difficulty and covering the tracks of the group involve even more skill and deception. $800 dollars is change to these groups.
Theft, government manipulation, and private funds are usually the sources of income for terrorists groups.
MOST TERRORIST NEVER EXPLAIN HOW THEY COVER THEIR TRACKS ESPECIALLY IN SUCH DETAIL. WHY WOULD ANYONE TAKE TIME OUT TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WHY YOU CAN’T TRACK THEM…they are afraid because this is a spammer

They reveal way to much about their gropu including the name, locations, why you can’t hurt them and NO INFORMATION ABOUT YOU NOT EVEN YOUR FULL NAME, OR ADRESS OR ANYTHING! You would think that the key in intimidating someone would be to provide information about the person, their family, kids, adresses, etc
Why they try to cover their tracks by revealing so much implies this email is purely by a scam artist who sadly is uneducated and lacks common sense and knowlege. Currency is probably the worst thing you could be asked for because it is trackable and western union and money gram screams scam. The fact that you took this seriously for one minute astonishes me.

You are not the only one who has gotten that. It is spam. No need to call the police. If you type some of that in google you will see a bunch of people who received them.
Contact your local police.
This is a common scam. They will do the investigation.

Yes I would call the police right away. If there is any chance that this could be true they have to see this message. if it is a prank, they also need to see this, because this type of message can hurt a lot of people. Making them think a race of people is terrorizing you or our country still when it is not, or that is has been terrorizing our country and scaring people into not contacting the right authorities so this type of scare tactic can be stopped. It is bad enough accusing any race of people for terrorists acts when they are actually doing the deed.
The police can tell you yes it’s real, or no it’s not, and that the end of it for you. We have to leave this sort of thing to the people who know what do do.
