You will need to supply your friend's passport or other identification details so the bank in SA can identify him. Check where your friend is and your bank should send it to the bank branch nearest him. He'll have to get to the branch to get the money. The Big 4 SA Banks, are: ABSA Nedbank FNB Standard Bank All will charge roughly the same commission and the process should take 3 days.
