It has limitations on what you can do. In addition, HTTP is more appropriate for viewing information rather then uploading information. If you require uploading of files I would use the FTP (file Transfer protocol) protocol and setup userids for your clients to load the information to your systems. There a numerous clients available that can ensure delivery of the files is performed in the event of some network error. For secure uploading I would use SFTP.
