I have field agents that need to submit a daily “report” to me. They gather information that includes credit card information. The most efficient way to handle this is via an online form of some sort…preferrably a stand alone one, similar to google documents.
To protect the information of the customer, I think it’s necessary to have these web forms require SSL (Security).
I’ve run in to issues with google docs…not being able to edit after submission as well as the order being inaccurate. I’ve run in to issues with other forms where you need to have a website just to use the web form.
Is there anything out there that will allow me to create a web form, where a field agent can go to a url for instance and access the form, fill it out, and send it to me securely?
The next question is price. This isn’t meant to be a high volume issue, and it doesn’t merit a big investment on my part. I’m looking for something free, if not close to it…any suggestions?

Couple of different ways to approach this. The SSL idea will work – but you really would need someone to assist with a web server, user ID’s & passwords. Otherwise folks could access the web server & data (SSL just encrypts the data in motion). Another approach is to use encrypted e-mail – such as open PGP for windows. When you are exchanging with just a couple of other folks – this is fairly easy to use. You could also look at other file encryption products (again PGP has a good one) – then just create the form in Word – encrypt the file – attach it to e-mail and send it. And finally a rather low tech approach – is to use Word – then password protect the file. Use a strong password (upper, lower, special characters, numbers – such as – remember it as “tastes great”) – 8 characters minimum – 10 is better.
Hope that helps.
