He only wants to send 1200 and they aren’t going to do anything. The cartels are probably laughing. The last time the cartels ran into national guard troops (about 4 years ago), the troops took off running. But it wasn’t their fault. They had orders not to engage the enemy under any circumstances. They are probably going to be sent back with the same stupid orders. This is just political posturing on Obama’s part. It doesn’t mean anything.

Well they have enough problems with the mexican army right now and that’s why there’s people dying everyday.

…the drug lords aren’t daunted. The troops can’t even fire at them. And if they do, they’ll get court martialed. If they don’t, the Mexican government will lobby for maximum penalties.

It’s happened before to a border guard =/ He’s still in jail if I’m not mistaken despite enormous protests. He shot an armed drug dealer.

When Bush had talked about sending reserves to the border the President of Mexico threw a screaming fit so I seriously doubt you will see Obama send any troops and IF he does send them you can bet they will be told in no uncertain terms do not to draw weapons.
